A Year in Medals

I posted my yearly wrap up here  but I am linking up today with PattyErika, and Marcia to share my year in bling.

Shoot, who doesn't like a little bling and sparkle, right?!
4 half marathons and three fun runs...
Here we go

February - Princess Half - miles of smiles
Disney and bling  - so symbatico
Repeat - no, a one and done, this bling was $$$

April The city of Petersburg is trying to do a little revitalization and I really appreciate the effort to make running part of that.
It was so hot for this inaugural half. I earned this one the
hard way!
Repeat - yes, already signed up for 2016

July - Another steamy ☼ one earned
A virtual 7 mile run

October - A super fun one with my Honey! Halloween 5K turned 4.4 miler lol had a little course snafu.
Repeat - I think I will!

November - The  ★ PR event at home in Richmond.
So pretty with the skyline, but was hard to capture a good picture of it. This was an awesome day where all the stars aligned :)
Repeat - undecided, but I bet when it gets closer I will want to

DecemberEarned this climbing a mile and half all uphill at the end of the race. ❤ Repeat - undecided, I get tired thinking about that hill!

and my last little medal in 2015 was the fun Tacky Light run
Repeat - yes, this is always fun!

How many repeat races do you have planned for 2016?

  1. I do have several planned repeats. One being the Rock n Roll in NOLA, it will be my 3rd year. I could do this race every year, it is special because it was my very first half to do. :) I so love the Tacky Light Run!

    1. It's fun if you can make a race a tradition like that! I am trying to do that with Petersburg since I was there for the first one :) The Tacky Light is a fun one!

  3. What a great haul Karen! Seeing your PRincess medal is like a knife in my heart since I always thought I'd run that when my girls were little and into Disney alas the phase passed too quickly and I never got there.
Your PR medal is stunning! Cheers to a great year!
I've got no repeats on tap yet in 2016 except for the Espirit de She tri. Clearly I'm a masochist.

  4. That Princess Medal is awesome! The Richmond medal is very nice too. And a PR is so special. I want one! I would like to repeat all of the local half marathons. They are hard to pass up when you can sleep in your own bed.

    1. You are so right, sleeping in your own bed is so nice, that should be reason enough to want to run Richmond again, but I am afraid I will never even come close to that time lol
You are getting ready to earn a PR at a new distance :)

  5. Oh wow, you definitely have earned some awesome fun looking bling! The princess one is beautiful, but that Tacky Light Run is so fun looking!
If I can get back to running, I am not sure I have any repeat races that I will plan on, but who knows sometimes its just best to not plan and let things fall into place last minute (story of my life, LOL)
Have a great New Year!!!! This is Kristy @Runaway Bridal Planner, my work computer doesn't let me log into Blogger:)

    1. Thank you :) Disney medals are great! I always think it funny how the VA medals seem to be a collection on cannons.
      Cheers to a better 2016!

  12. At this point I don't have any repeat races scheduled. I'd like to do that CARA 10 miler again--it's one of my favorites but I'm scheduled to work that day. Plus it's in March this year...might not work out with my marathon training. Otherwise, I don't have any other plans yet.

  13. Nice bling! There are three races I really enjoy and run most years: Firecracker 5K, Leesburg 20K, and Run With Santa 5K, so I'll probably run them all again in 2016.

    Happy New Year, Karen!
