A Tour

Welcome to my mini tour.
This is how I spend 98% of my day at work.

Sitting! Ahhhhhhh!¯\_()_/¯

This is my little space, complete with a blanket to cushion my seat.
Yes, my tailbone is still hurting, I think I must have cracked it pretty good.

Smiley may hide sensitive info :)

This is the view from the door and some of my happy stuff on my shelf.

Our building is half specialty classrooms and half administration. I like the funky colors, makes me think of the Partridge Family everyday :)
This is the little meeting area down the hall from my office. We do a lot of staff eating here :)

Our staff picture from last year

During the year, I go down the red steps to bus duty every morning. I love the brown wood walls.

This year we will have students from 10 different high schools.
I get to hang out downstairs about 35 minutes each morning and greet them as they arrive.
This job rocks in the Fall and Winter - the weather usually makes me want to escape and run ❤

Sometimes I find reasons to go and up down these, just so I can move a little during the day.

A few of our rooms - Barbering and Vet Sci

where I met my little Princess Bagheera

One of the most exciting moments of my day...

walking this hall to the "other side" to refill my water bottle

extra steps :0)  got to work in those extra steps as much as I can

and the parking lot I make a beeline for everyday when it is quittin' time!

Not a bad place to spend 8 hours a day during the school year, and 10 hours when we are on summertime...
...but of course, my most happy place is the open road, and those precious minutes I spend running before I  plop down and sit all day.

All my best,

  2. Love a "day in the work life". What an excellent school. What is your job exactly? I would love to work at a school. If I had to go back to school right now I would become an art teacher...I think. Or something in healthcare. As much as I love my job at HPE, it's not my passion but the people and the environment make me happy so I feel pretty blessed with that. Thank you for sharing!

    1. Our county wanted to expand tech education so we have a few new courses and some duplicate ones. Baking and Culinary is downstairs, and we have a Firefighting class, Advanced CAD Modeling and Design...all great skill things.
      I am a peon, a data steward/letter sender if you will. I don't have a degree.
I have no idea what my passion is to tell you the truth, when I was younger I wanted to teach - but not now! Well only for the schedule lol
I loved my last secretary job at an elementary school and having a month in summer really helped my quality of life, but the pay was so low I just had to do something else, so here I sit.
It is a blessing when you like the environment you work in!! and if the paycheck is okay - even better :) I have no art/craft skills. DO you really enjoy that type of thing?

    2. I think your job sounds really fun! I do love that my job uses a lot of my skill set and keeps me challenged but I really do enjoy being creative and I really love most things health related. I took a "temp" job at HP (now HPE) when I was in grad school and have been here ever since. I am totally OK with it but if for some reason if I had to start looking again, I would seek out a field that I am more interested in.

My little office space is just depressing. Its why I try to bring in as much Beauty & the Beast items as I can :) haha

    1. Thanks Megan :) I think it was a pretty remodel. I want an apt. or small house with that open lofty feel. It is dream that will never happen, but I can dream right.

    1. Thanks for saying fascinating! LOL You are so sweet always. I feel like my days are pretty boring so I wasn't sure about this. I do like to see what my bloggers friends do beyond sweat :) I feel like so many of you have such interesting lives! You do all kind of fun culture exploration, my routine seems tame in comparison.
The animals make my day quite often :)

  9. KITTENS!!!! :) Any office that has kittens in it sounds like my kind of place! How did you not end up taking them all home?! So adorable!

I am just like you, I find excuses to get up as often as I can throughout the day. Since there aren't many exciting places to go in my office I tend to get up and refill my water bottle a lot... and then I go to the bathroom to pee a lot. I am sure my coworkers think I have a bladder control issue! :D

    1. Haha, me too! drink water - pee a lot
"walk breaks" lol at least it is good for us.
I did bring several kittens to visit lol but thank goodness they all got adopted...except Bagheera. I promise I am maxed out, I can't do any homes for the next group unless I get to stop working lol I better get lottery tickets.
