I Did It!

That is when I could see the finish line! I was stoked!!

Here I am cry smiling...I cried as I crossed the line and they gave me medal.
I have not even got myself together to write a recap. I slept a lot Sunday afternoon and we had Garth Brooks tickets Sunday night! Garth was Amazing!!!!!

I did cry a few tears later that I missed my goal and I apologize now to Kristina and Ana for the sad snappy...it just so hard emotionally after all those weeks of preparing, I just had a tough day, my legs were heavy.

I did not quit, but I just had to go the pace my body wanted to go, not the pace I hoped I could go.

I will write it all out sometime this week.
I appreciate all the support! ... and that you can embrace what this means to me! You'll are a large part of my first marathon because I carried you with me.

I am marathoner!! Oh, and I guess I can say now 50 is fabulous! Truly ;)

I hope you have a wonderful week!
Tell me what I have missed with you! I am coming off a few busy weeks after vaca and the race, I need to catch up.

All my best,
Karen

  3. Congratulations Karen!!!! Welcome to the 26.2 club!! So proud of you, I know how much this meant to you and how long you've wanted it so I'm so happy you finally get to call yourself a bonafide marathoner!

I'm sorry you're disappointed with your time, but in the end the numbers on the clock won't mean as much as the joy of crossing the finish!

  15. Karen, it was your first. I'm not sure it'll be your last -- a lot of people say that after the first, but then somehow, someday, they decide to do another. Anyway, my long winded way of saying you PR'd it & you rocked it!

I haven't had the right conditions for a great PR in years. And I still don't regret a single one I've run.

And I can't wait to read your recap! But it takes me a long time to digest races -- I can't even imagine one of marathon length!

    Congrats, marathoner!

Common sense tells me to let this one and done for the sake of my feet, but I confess I have already thought I may try again...crazy!

  20. You ran 26.2 miles. For me, you are a superstar. No matter what your time was, you did something most people will never do.

I can't imagine training for one. Too bad, we don't live near each other. I might have been tempted.
